Unintended Choice

Migration-related grief and significant losses in adulthood

What is your unintended choice?

When life changes, we often lose more than what is immediately visible. Sometimes, the loss is difficult to name, yet we feel its weight.

It may leave us with a sense of uncertainty, unfamiliarity, or even a feeling of being lost within ourselves.

And when a loss follows a choice we made, we may experience conflicting emotions, even when it was a decision we wanted or needed to make: moving to a new country, making a career transition, or simply changing family roles.

I have created a safe space to support adults navigating these significant losses and life transitions; experiences that can quietly reshape our identity, our sense of belonging, and our sense of purpose.

Many life experiences involve the loss of identities, relationships, roles, dreams, or a sense of belonging.

Individual Support

Compassionate support for adults navigating grief, life transitions, and losses that can reshape identity and meaning, including the loss of a loved one or the loss of an expected future.

The areas where I offer support and accompaniment:

Migration & Relocation

Migration-related grief and belonging.

Bereavement

Loss through the death of a parent, partner, sibling, friend, or another significant person.

Life Transitions & Invisible Losses

Retirement, career change, divorce, role changes, infertility, health changes, and other significant life transitions.

Identity & Meaning

Rebuilding a sense of self, finding meaning after loss, and integrating life-changing experiences.

The Compass That Guides My Practice

I don’t believe my role is to tell you which path to take or how quickly you should move. Instead, I hope to offer something more like a compass—one that helps you find direction when life feels uncertain.

These principles guide the way I accompany every person who entrusts me with their story.

Every Loss Has Its Own Story

No two experiences of loss are the same.

Every person brings a unique history, relationship, culture, and way of making sense of what has happened. Rather than assuming what grief “should” look like, I begin by listening to your story.

Grief Cannot Be Rushed

There is no timeline for grief.

My role is not to help you “get over it,” but to support you as you adapt to what has changed. Every loss asks something different of us, and every person finds their own rhythm for moving forward.

Beyond Labels

Grief is a human response, not a problem to be fixed.

Tears do not always mean depression. Silence does not always mean denial. Rather than fitting your experience into assumptions or labels, I seek to understand what your responses mean within your own story.

Grief Touches Every Part of Life

Loss affects far more than our emotions

It can influence our relationships, identity, body, work, beliefs, daily routines, and sense of belonging. Together, we make space for the many ways grief is experienced.

The Approach Fits the Person

The process is shaped around you—not the other way around.

There is no single method that fits every person or every loss. I draw from different approaches and adapt them to your needs, values, culture, and circumstances.
